There's nothing rare about it, Toyota has been using it in one form or another for a decade or two in cars and trucks. That alone should indicate something about it's reliability.

Aisin part number 30-80LE = A340H Aisin part number 30-40LE = A340F To confirm, crawl under your truck and count the fluid pans on your transmission. The A340F will only have 1 large fluid pan, with one small drain plug on it. The transfer case is a seperate unit, that doesn't have a fluid pan, but it has two large plugs (a drain and a fill).

Specs from Toyota say the transmission is an A340F for this model which aligns with being on the 99 4X4's. The door sticker confirms that as well. That part makes sense...however when I crawled under to check it out the tag for the transmission is a 30-40LE which was designed to carry the 4x2 model. Remember I have 4X4.
